You have perfectly articulated in a few words how it feels to live on this planet as a person of faith! How do you do that? I am blessed by your words! Lori
Jody, I feel blessed I caught this as I was sorting through email, most junk I have tried & failed to unsubscribe to (back to the inbox they come).
I am with you on this surrender. Any writing I do seems to come from a myriad of thoughts, twist, turns and an eventual push to shut down the shower, or race home to my laptop mid writing those thoughts on "Notes" in the grocery line, etc. I was raised by the most planned people of the earth and there is no plan, workshop, schedule I can do anything creative with, including over 20 years of professional photography. All my anxiety during those years working for clients with natural schedules was a bit of a torture until I arrived on the scene and went into my zone. I believe God took every schedule & pushed me through my creative world (along with a second shooter or wrangler) allowing timeframes and creativity to take place. I have never fit into a box since childhood, yet I have been the "obedient one." I believe our creative side is our rebel side and however that works - just let it. I adore you, your writing and this poem. Beautiful picture too.
Praying for this hard season you are in with loved ones and friends. Glad you took on a Substack. ox
Dear Deb, I am so glad my words resonated... I had a feeling I wasn't the only one. God is so much bigger than our grand ideas, and I'm grateful for a chance to express them.
Also grateful for the beauty you bring to the world.

Oh goodness it is a constant surrender, but thank you for saying so.
God certainly timed your words to me this morning 🙌🏻
Thank you friend. ox
