Where is my focus of attention this morning: listening to the song of a brown thrush. Attending to the small bright purple buds of a redbud tree and tasting one. Holding close to my eyes a dogwood flower and its reminder of the cross. Glorying in God’s wondrous creation. Thank you for your poem and reading.
On beauty and how it attracts us to the Kingdom, there's a great line about that in Brideshead Revisited, where Sebastian tells Charles that the loveliness of Catholicism is enough.
Your words (and photographs) are beautiful. I think very few people have trouble admitting the world is a dangerous place—but there are plenty (me!) that need to be often reminded of beauty. ✨Thank you.
Amen!
Jody I loved this entire piece! The imagery with words and pictures, your reading and sharing the story behind it. Beautiful!
Thank you, Megan!

Oh Darlene, you've painted some beautiful pictures of God's creation--thank you. And thank you for your kind words.

Ahhhhh.... interesting source. I haven't that book, perhaps I should? Thanks, Megan.

Agreed, Cathy--we all need reminders :-) Lord, give me eyes to see your invisible Kingdom!
I think you do a good job of showing the beauty, Jody. This was lovely.
I enjoyed the poem and listening to you read it. Thanks Jody.
