"Crayons crafting the world like

Solomon's temple, gemstones made new."

Loved this line!

Jody! This is one of my favorites. I’m visiting the DR right now so spring looks very different here—I see translucent turquoise, sea foam bubbling like white clouds, new-life green of the palm trees.

Spring, and the hills are green,

dustings of snowdrops,

pink patches of red maids,

with, here and there, the bright orange of the California poppy.

Driving into town,

the trees are dressed for the season,

almonds in pink-white,

peaches in pink,

redleaf plums in light purple.

We still await the blue of the field lupines,

the bright yellow of goldfields,

and the coming of Easter.

Oh my goodness, Rachael--that is glorious. I love 'dustings of snowdrops.' What a sight--and praise God CA has been getting some rain.... Thanks so much for sharing.

Your colorful "I see" poem, Spring a la Binney and Smith, checks all the boxes for me. Color's role in the composition of the world ministers in a way nothing else does and draws my heart to the Creator in leaps and bounds of joy.

And it brought this YouTube performance by Kristin Andreasson, to mind.
