What a great list of poets! I especially love Trommer and Nye's work! And there are oh, so many more! (Like Lucille Clifton, Dorianne Laux and Sharon Olds!)
Saturday mornings are a great time for me. In fact, that’s typically my writing time, and when I like to meet up with other writers via zoom (we started out as a hope writers small group about 3 years ago.. we’ve been wavering and not meeting every week).

Corie, thanks for sharing your suggestions. I REALLY have to find Trommer's work!
Trommer's work: https://www.wordwoman.com
I get her daily poem in my inbox. To me, she embodies poetry on so many levels.
Oh, and as far as living recent poets, I suggest Joy Sullivan and Ada Lemon.
Hi Corie, thanks for the link! Lots of living poets to choose from--I read mostly Christian poets (all of whom are friends :-) Here's a post from my Substack archives... https://jodycollins.substack.com/p/female-faith-poets-where-to-begin
Oh how cool. I’ll be sure to check out their work.
Jody, I am REALLY interested in your once a month zoom call, but a weekday morning is only good for me during school breaks. 😩
Also, I LOVE your once-a-week idea!
Sara that is great feedback! Maybe we could make it Saturday morning?? Stay tuned!

I look forward to what’s ahead here with you!
Thanks for your energy and enthusiasm. Connection with other writers is so vital isn't it? Stay tuned!
