Beautiful poem Jody. I write through the music and visions of life, joy and struggle around me. I never know when it will hit and feel like it's pouring lately. All creativity is meant to be an offering to our God. He is so good to us. ox

A friend shared these words from the book of Nahum as she prays for family and friends in the path of hurricane Helene: "His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet." What a picture, what a metaphor, what a beautiful prompt for prayer.

Teri, that is a powerful Scripture and certainly a propos. I was texting a friend this a.m. who is on the Atlantic coast in Jacksonville, Fla and still impacted by the hurricane. Thanks for sending me to Nahum and offer a way to pray.

I love this poem even more knowing it was inspired by God in the Yard. Your words here remind me of a quote from Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." It’s true, isn’t it? And poets have such a way of creating beautiful feelings.
