I love this practice, and your examples. I've been trying to do one art journal page a day. I don't always do it, but I've been more consistent with it over the last several months. It is the best way for me to transition from day to evening.
thanks, Callie. I like your idea of using this practice as a transition from day to evening. It offers a way to process our working hours in unspoken ways....
I think my heart beat a little faster as I viewed your photos, Jody. I've collected collage materials to experiment with, but haven't done a whole lot with them. You've inspired me! Perhaps Sunday afternoons could become my art-journaling time. . .
Viewing your art journal poetry was like gentle wind whispering into my soul. Hearts in Weeds captured my attention for a while.
Part of the post-abortion healing and healing from other issues groups that I facilitated for years included collage-making. We'd have participants create one at the beginning of the group and then again at the end. We were astonished every time, to see how God spoke through each participant's collected pieces. And, almost always, the first collage and the second collage dramatically portrayed God's healing work -- darkness to light, weighed down to buoyant.
Thank you for sharing these Jody. It's been watch watching how God creatively leads and ministers to you.
Oh Carol, that is a powerful testimony to the power of art, yes? Thank you for sharing. I'm so happy I decided to offer a glimpse into another way of expression, it's opened up a lot of other doors. Thank you for reading, friend.

God uses it all.

Nancy, I'm so glad this inspired you....I hope you can make some creative time for yourself (and share what you make!)

“Because sometimes we don't know what God is saying until we see it.” Couldn’t agree more! Love your process, Jody.
Thank you, Cheryl. Your creativity with a camera is certainly evidence of paying attention to what we see and what God is saying.
Wonders everywhere we look. 💐
